Following Miretsky’s retrospective Vanity at our gallery, his new exhibition, American Beauty, focuses on his most recent body of work, paintings done from 2023 to 2025. If his previous show was an ode to the work of George Grosz and Otto Dix and the Roaring Twenties, American Beauty is an ode to the Renaissance era and to Da Vinci and Raphael.

If the works in Vanity were about dislocation and longing, the works in American Beauty are about being anchored. Miretsky, the Ukrainian artist living in the diaspora, has become Miretsky, the American artist settled in Brooklyn. The work here is a celebration of American Beauty through the eyes of Miretsky.
